What is Hypnobirthing all about??

In my humble opinion, Hypnobirthing is simply the best kind of childbirth education!  The Hypnobirthing Australia ™ program will teach you all you need to know about the birth process and will equip you with the most amazing tools, such as self-hypnosis, relaxation, visualisations and breathing techniques, so that your birth is a positive experience no matter what path your birthing takes.

The hypnosis part of this program feels like a beautiful deep meditation where you will be in a heightened state of awareness & absolutely in control. I could bring myself out of this deep relaxation at any point & it was one of my favourite ways to connect with my baby while he was kicking about in my belly.

One of the most interesting & fundamental subjects covered in the course is the mind/body connection. Birth is instinctual and is a normal, physiological process, so our bodies know how to birth even before our minds have learnt anything about the birth process! But fear can negatively affect birth in a big way so the Hypnobirthing Australia program offers both the tools & preparation to eliminate these fears, allowing our mind to get out of the way so our body can do it’s amazing job of birthing our babies.

Finally, just like an athlete prepares for months leading up to a big event, preparation with Hypnobirthing is the key to success! There are so many wonderful self-hypnosis/relaxation tracks to listen to, so creating a daily practice is no effort at all. I absolutely treasured this time in the third trimester of my pregnancy & I am sure you will love it too. The skills you learn during this program are life skills that Hypnobirthing parents find they turn to again & again. Finding these moments of stillness & turning inward to connect with ourselves when life becomes a little crazy or chaotic is so helpful when we want to remain calm & positive.
